This Privacy Policy governs the manner in which SchoolDock collects, uses, maintains and discloses information collected from users (each, a "User") of the www.schooldock.com website ("Site") or SchoolDock Mobile application. This privacy policy applies to the Site or Mobile application and all products and services offered by Schooldock.

Personal identification information

We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us when registering at the Site or Mobile application, expressing an interest in obtaining information about us or our products and services, when participating in activities on the Sites or Mobile application (such as posting messages in our online forums or entering competitions, contests or giveaways) or otherwise contacting us.

The personal information that we collect depends on the context of your interactions with us and the Sites or Mobile application, the choices you make and the products and features you use. The personal information we collect can include the following:

• Publicly Available Personal Information. We collect first name, maiden name, last name, nickname, phone numbers, email addresses, and other similar data.
• Credentials. We collect passwords, password hints, and similar security information used for authentication and account access.
• Payment Data. We collect data necessary to process your payment if you make purchases, such as your payment instrument number (such as a credit card number), and the security code associated with your payment instrument. Information automatically collected

Some information – such as IP address and/or browser and device characteristics – is collected automatically when you visit our Apps.

• Push Notifications. We may request to send you to push notifications regarding your account or the mobile application. If you wish to opt-out from receiving these types of communications, you may turn them off in your device’s settings.

Web browser cookies

Our Site may use "cookies" to enhance User experience. User's web browser places cookies on their hard drive for record-keeping purposes and sometimes to track information about them. User may choose to set their web browser to refuse cookies, or to alert you when cookies are being sent. If they do so, note that some parts of the Site may not function properly.

How is children's personal information treated?

If user is not of legal age to form a binding contract (in many jurisdictions, this age is 18), may only use the Services and disclose information to us with his/her parent’s or guardian’s express consent. User should review this Privacy Policy with the parent or guardian and make sure he/she understands it, and do the same with the privacy policies of all websites he/she visits or mobile applications he/she uses.

We only collect personal information through the Services from a child under 13 where that student’s school, and/or teacher, and/or parent has agreed to obtain parental consent for that child to use the Services and disclose personal information to us, for the use and benefit of the learning environment. If user is a student that the school or teacher have generated an account for, please do not send any personal information about yourself to us if your school, and/or teacher has not obtained this prior consent from your parent or guardian, and please do not send any personal information other than what we request from you in connection with the Services. If we learn we have collected personal information from a student without parental consent being obtained by his or her school, district, and/or teacher, or if we learn a student has provided us personal information beyond what we request from him or her, we will delete that information as quickly as possible. If user is a student registrant and his/her parent or guardian has signed up for the Services with an Access Code provided by the teacher or the school, should understand that the parent or guardian can view all information within or associated with user’s Services account, including, without limitation, messages between user and the teacher and grades user received on assignments.

How we use collected information

SchoolDock may collect and use Users personal information for the following purposes:

• To improve customer service – Information you provide helps us respond to your customer service requests and support needs more efficiently.
• To personalize user experience – We may use information in the aggregate to understand how our Users as a group use the services and resources provided on our Site.
• To improve our App – We may use feedback you provide to improve our products and services.
• To process payments – We may use the information Users provide about themselves when placing an order only to provide service to that order. We do not share this information with outside parties except to the extent necessary to provide the service.
• To send periodic emails – We may use the email address to send User information and updates pertaining to their order. It may also be used to respond to their inquiries, questions, and/or other requests. If User decides to opt-in to our mailing list, they will receive emails that may include company news, updates, related product or service information, etc. If at any time the User would like to unsubscribe from receiving future emails, we include detailed unsubscribe instructions at the bottom of each email or User may contact us via our Site.

Access, Rectification and Deletion of data

In order to provide an option to resume the use of our services at a later date, we may retain personal data associated with inactive accounts for as long as it is necessary for the purposes set out in this privacy policy unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law (such as tax, accounting or other legal requirements). Users with an active account may access, modify, rectify and delete personal information at any time through their account. Users without an active account may send an email to info@schooldock.com to request for access, rectification or deletion of their personal data. We may refuse to delete or modify your data if we need that data to protect our legal rights or to perform our legal obligations.

In addition to the rights mentioned in the previous section, Users also have the right to restrict processing of their data, to object to processing of the data, as well as the right to data portability. We will cooperate with Users to fulfil these rights as far as possible.

We adopt appropriate data collection, storage and processing practices and security measures to protect against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure or destruction of your personal information, username, password, transaction information and data stored on our Site or Mobile application.

We do not sell, trade, or rent Users personal identification information to others. SchoolDock has the discretion to update this privacy policy at any time. When we do, we will revise the updated date at the bottom of this page. We encourage Users to frequently check this page for any changes to stay informed about how we are helping to protect the personal information we collect. You acknowledge and agree that it is your responsibility to review this privacy policy periodically and become aware of modifications.

Your acceptance of these terms

In order to use this Site or Mobile application, you must accept this policy and our accompanying terms of service. If you do not agree to this policy or the terms of service, please do not use our App. Your continued use of the App following the posting of changes to this policy will be deemed your acceptance of those changes. Provision of personal data to us under this policy is essential for us to be able to provide our services to you. Failure to provide correct and complete information to us could result in unintentional failure to provide complete and proper services to you.
